Gabriel simulation, findings from Ridgequest EQs published in Nature

Alice Gabriel conducted data-infused modeling on supercomputers to better understand the unusual seismic activity in Ridgecrest Jul 2019.

The findings show "the driving factors of these large events, which can help inform seismic hazard assessment & preparedness."  Gabriel's research findings, conducted with Taufiq Taufiqurrahman, her former student at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), were published online May 24 by Nature, and will appear in the print edition June 8.
