Worcester, Dzieciuch, collaborators featured in JASA

Peter Worcester, Matt Dzieciuch, collaborators share findings from long-range underwater navigation system that uses measured acoustic travel times from a constellation of acoustic sources was tested using data from the 2010-2011 North Pacific Acoustic Laboratory (NPAL) Philippine Sea experiment sponsored by the U.S. Office of Naval Research. The system provides an undersea positioning capability that is analogous to that provided on land and in the air by the satellite-based Global Positioning System (GPS).

Mw 4.9 Anza Earthquake is right on time according to Kilb

During an uncertain time, one thing remains reliable. According to IGPP seismologist, Debi Kilb, today’s Mw 4.9 earthquake near Anza, CA was right on schedule: "The Anza region has an earthquake over Mw 4.5 approximately every three years," according to Kilb. "Be prepared not scared!"
